How to write longer explanations? I'm writing a book about philosophy of science, and each chapter turns out to be too short as I explain the concepts very briefly, in a way someone who's familiar with them might understand.

How to explain concepts to the Layperson? To what extend should I detail my explanations? And how should I do so? Should I first give definitions and then a few concrete examples (say, from history of science)?

Any guides, tutorials or books are welcome.

No matter how much you write, there will always be some potential confusion or point of ambiguity in your explanation. Try to find these and resolve them, and you will find that the length comes naturally without any unnecessary fluff.
