This girl looks like the girl that I sat next to in math class. One day she came in sick and I was afraid of getting sick so I sat on my chair at a forty-five degree angle. She asked to use my eraser and societal pressures made me consent and then I disposed of the eraser after class. One day I brought her a bottle of Japanese tea because she was cute and I'm autistic. Thank you for listening to me.

Rushmore, The Life Aquatic, and Moonrise Kingdom are his best.

Personally, I've never cared for Tenenbaums. Grand Budapest Hotel was very pretty but I didn't give a shit about it. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a solid movie. Darjeeling Limited is good but not for everybody, and feels a lot more like Bottle Rocket, his first movie, than anything else he's made.

The thing is that he ended up being as meritfull as someone depending on edgyness to get attention but on the opposite extreme, being sugary cute and generic in his style. If anything his earlier stuff had more variety and wasn't so cutey, he became a parody if himself as it tends to happen with a steady industrial production.
Not hating on him, but he isn't what he used to be.

Your problem is you. *His style* like any artist who doesn't stray from their formula, will inevitably seem stale to the fan or the critic. Some musicians will stay in the same style. You want a Leon Redbone sound, you don't listen to death metal. You like one Redbone album over another, but someone may have been introduced to him with that album, so has a fonder relationship with it. It's all just taste.

I know that since there's little people attending that target some might want him to stay doing the same, but stagnation is pretty bad if you hope for artistic merit.

Not really. I can point what movie came before and after any of them because there a clear tendency of taking off "unneeded" plot and characterization, while you can pin point how he was struggling with the things that were starting to be his "style" and finding out what he wanted to do. He's stuff is very personal, and so used to be Anderson's.
