Thoughts?

>> No.561835

In case you are looking for thoughts in that book: none in there

>> No.561968

With all the egomaniacs on this board this is the best we can come up with?

>> No.561974

I see so many poor niggers on the subway reading this

fight it

Nah, that'd be the 50th law by 50 cent...
depressing isn't it?

exactly the reason why nobody here knows this book... we have this shit engraved in our bones...
... probably the reason why we are all failures at life, having crap like this imprinted in your soul

>> No.561993

It's an interesting read for ancedotal history, though the writier is way to obsessed with retarded Japanese tea ceremony.

I really liked it. I'm not very interested in history, but a lot of the stories in it kept me reading.

As far as the actual 'laws' and their application, keep a cynical eye on them. They've got some semblance of veracity to them, but they're also far too Machiavellian for my taste.

But again, I really liked it. I wonder if it comes in hardcover? My copy is falling apart.

Isn't that just one law, though? Can you elaborate?

Interesting. Tell me why you believe everyone else is a failure just like you.

Can those also be read as history books? Is there a lot of overlap in what they cover?

>> No.562003

This is an epic book, along with the Art of Seduction and the 33 Strategies Of War.

I have all three.

No, he ties in that fucking Cha-no-yu bullshit into at LEAST a third of the laws in the book. I swear, I think he just read on the subject and was so mesmerized by it that he wrapped a bunch of his ideas around the precepts. Which really just sucks, because he's going from examples about conquering warlords and embattled statesmen to a bunch of way-too-easy-to-offend Japanese aristocrats and their inability to just drink tea with each other like human beings.

1. Yes, of a sort.
2. No, not really.

"Power" is the best of the three by far, though. If you don't like that, you won't enjoy "War," and I still haven't been able to get into "Seduction."

Oh, okay, now I remember. For what it's worth, OP, this didn't bother me the two times I read it. Maybe it will the next time, though.

Also, thanks for replying, anon.

Your inability to see how the two are related is astounding.

It doesn't ruin the book or anything, I think it's just a bizarre thing to spend so much attention on.

>>562027

Your inability to utilize reading comprehension is astounding.

No, I mean this book. So many poor niggers read this book (or Sun Tzu or whatever) because they're trying to be Machiavellian to get ahead. This sort of Pop Machiavelli nonsense is what keeps people bitter.

New Age assclowning self-help bullshit for young impotent males who want to feel edgy, cool, and amoral.

Old as the hills.

No, really. People were hating him when he was alive.
