Have I outgrown it? What's next in life after 4chan? Is there anything edgier than it? I'm not a normalfag btw.

>> No.5610064

live your life and don't look back. 4chan really is cancer, and your life will be 100% better without it. nothing good can come from an echo chamber of ignorance, hate and idiocy

lel, my head is filled with 4chan memes.

I only think of them because I believe in them (e.g. I believe in a lot of r9k theory, as well as reddit red pill theory).

Although I haven't even been tempted to browse r9k at all, which is a surprise. The place goes in circles and there's nothing more to gain by being there. Even my self pity topics get no replies.

I expected /lit/ to be enlightening but sadly not (it's still better than most boards though)

Spending time on this site goes a long way towards showing you how differently normal people think from autistic people, particularly in that normalfag stuff is prescriptivist, autistic stuff is descriptivist, I could go on, but shit like this is the reason why people stay trapped here

I usually don't lurk /lit/ but I heard you guys wrote a book recently and I'm thinking about buying it for shits and giggles.
I found two versions on lulu.com, one paperback version and one hardcover version. According to the site the hardcover version has a fewer amount of pages than the paperback one, what's the difference between them and which one should I buy?

4chan is a drug which has a long addiction period and a pretty fast withdrawal phase. once you realize you can go a day without it you start to make a habit of it quickly because a day without 4chan is explicitly better than a day without it *on average)

we keep coming back for those A++ days of funposting than end up making the news and shit

People who are "normal" put a lot of emphasis on HOW something's said. They prescribe proper usage for language. That's because they care a lot about maintaining social relationships.

People who are here though, care about using language descriptively in a way that's accurate to their perception. They care less about how what they're saying will affect people. I think that they want to just use language to express the truth, or at least THEIR truth accurately.
Hence the difference between a white person on facebook who makes a post talking about white privilege and what OUGHT to be true, and a /pol/ kid rattling off statistics that have been collected that support their point, coupled with anecdotes that deliberately ignore the prescribed asides that someone else might insist are necessary.

I guess one thing I'm not acknowledging is that nobody really seems to know the actual affect on society between prescribing a usage of language that is meant to positively affect society. And of course, since "objective" truth is sort of elusive, obviously people who are deliberately edgy, reactionary, whatever, have their own agendas and biases, even when they're trying to "objective". Also people still lie on anonymous board, though I have a feeling that people might lie less than in other situations

This is part of the problem for me, the extremely high activity and the non-existent barrier of entry makes posting here a very alluring prospect.
