I let my dad use my kindle, honest

I used to use ADE a while back but they don't have it on Linux and it isn't worth the hassle. I'd just download books on my library's Overdrive if and only if it wasn't in paperback and then strip the DRM off so I could read it on my Kobo.

Good. You idiots with your ipads and ereaders are rotting your attention spans, will probably not even be able to remember half the shit you impulsively consume (look it up: readers who read via electronics have a significantly lower memory recall of the texts they read) and are infecting the general population with your destructive technology obsession

I think it's safe to say that people who use ereaders are generally superficial thinkers and more interested in saying they read a book than actually enjoying it -- they do not deserve their privacy as they are annoying and stupid

My dad gave me his old kindle when he got a new one, and until I broke it I would take all the shit I downloaded off of #bookz and throw it on there so I could just bring the kindle with me instead of my laptop.

Now, I agree that books are better, but you have to pay for books. E-reader type shit is great for reading stolen material, slightly easier on the eyes than my computer screen.

That was an interesting study. Actually, even if the pdf you are reading is "continuous page" vs separate pages on the computer your comprehension is diminished. Even the font can fuck you. It's amazing.

learn to live in the moment grandpa. if I enjoy a story as I read it, that's all the reward I need. if I enjoy it, I'll remember it to talk to my friends about it. if I don't remember intricacies, so be it, the mind has a funny way of prioritizing info.
