As long as you can force yourself that's still good. I have been abandoning things because coming out is just too much, so all my hopes to get into any kind of reading club or critic circle in real life keep getting ruined by myself.

I hate myself, im embarassed and disgusted by the way i act in social situations, and by my own boring thoughts.

i spend most of my time shut inside reading so i dont have to acknowledge how utterly boring and unlikable i am.

It was a philosophy treaty /lit/ was making. It ended up in nothing after the guy who had made the google doc took an editorial role and felt it needed less variety and more /pol/shitposting.

I have read hundred of books by famous and respected authors, and am considered very well-read by most people I've met, including a friend of mine with a phd in art history and a literature teacher who can read Homer, Kant and Sophocles in the original.

I don't understandwhat I read.

After 3 years of reading nothing but political and philosophical texts for my degree, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to maintain an adequate level of concentration when reading anything fictional. Not sure why, I continue to read materials associated with said degree no problem.

I've only read two books this year: Herbert's Dune and Steinbeck's Cannery Row.

It depresses me because my time is severely limited this year between work and college, and now I'm worried I might not love reading anymore (it was a chore just reading the last 20 pages of Cannery Row).

Well, it is a field I plan to eventually pursue further at a graduate level. Although, it's not that I don't want to read fiction either, it's actually kind of frustrating that I don't have the patience for it currently actually. .

I'm just now starting to accept that I've never, nor will I ever, have anything interesting to say. Never mind anything longer than several pages.

I also use eyeliner to hide the patches in my mustache after I've ripped out a shit ton of hairs while writing.
