>want to start reading some classics/literature
>can't afford e-reader or books, hate reading on PC
>go to local library
>all the fiction is clumped up into either "fiction", "large print", or "stack fiction"
>can't find 1984, Catch-22, the Great Gatsby or any other literature that I wanted to read
>they have Finnegan's fucking Wake but not Ulysses

Well, there goes that idea.

Did you know there are people working in the libraries whose work is to help you out looking for a book or to order it? What a shock, isn't it?

I'll admit, I didn't conduct my search as throughly as possible, but it still galled me that they would put all fiction into huge alpabetical lumps instead of seperating it by genre. Also, for the authors whose names I remembered, I couldn't find anything. I would have found more if I wrote down all the names, but I figured that they would have a dedicated section for literature instead of being retarded.

Yeah, do ILL. Also stop being such a snob. Read Thomas Hardy or a Bronte or Austen or something. Read a detective novel. Branch out.

Get a job. Get welfare. Do odd jobs. Mow someone's lawn. 100 dollars is a small price to pay for convenience.

Yeah, post on 4chan instead of reading a book because you're 16 and you've heard of 5 books and none of them are at your local library branch.

You could use two accounts of bing rewards and an account of tellwut to get a monthly amount of 13ish dollars in amazon rewards. Might sound like shit but if you use the bing rewards pogo cheats bot it should take you ten minutes a day to do your shit. A $35 purchase gives you free shipping. You will be making $30 every two months, that is basically 3 books every two months. You cant make multiple accoubts on tellwut so dont try it and dont over do it with bing rewards multiple accounts. Depending on how much you read and on how much you can make up for with your library's collection, this can work for you.

No, I just lurk here sometimes out of boredom. I'm only really turning to literature because I've run out of accessible genre fiction that interests me.

Where are you?

If you're in the UK, I'd be willing to give you my paperwhite.

Don't know why I bought the thing, I much prefer books.

No, sadly. New Zealand. I don't know how much more literate than America we are, but it's probably not much.

Don't worry, m8.

The Americans are simply cannon fodder.

Amazon? Used section? I'm sure you can get like one book per month mate, even I manage a few despite having virtually no expendable income.

It's not like I'm destitute, it's just I hate paying $20+ for books. I'll manage fine, I just wanted to make a thread honestly.
