In the context of an irl conversation it doesn't matter because tone and body language will convey meaning better than the answer to a somewhat convoluted question.

Now, back to the important stuff. That dog is a bit too slobbery for me to want it.
>>5556760
This dog looks like it can be slobbery but it also looks like a bro so I would totally own it.

you're the one creating ambiguity, although the other person set the trap.

>do you mind helping me?

>I don't mind.
Simple as that

Don't rush, think first, and your conversation will encounter fewer errors.

>you're the one creating ambiguity

I don't create it. I'm referring to how common folk speak to each other.

well who the fuck cares about minor fluctuations in anglophone peasant vernacular? What's your opinion on the international "soda" v. "pop" controversy?

This, it doesn't matter that everyone else is wrong when they don't realize it. It's much easier to go with the incorrectness anyway because of the misunderstandings that would ensue. Though, it is arguable that if they were taught correctly to begin with we wouldn't have this problem.

What a gorgeous beast! Were he mine I would want a house with at least an acre of yard out back for him to run around in. I would play Frisbee with him and then go inside to work on my magnum opus, "Ode to Embiggened Doggie."
