those stories are ridiculous. how father brown explains to the people amazed of his intellect that the guy has a lot of bruises and injuries not because he was hit by a club but because he fell from a window etc. they are nicely written and have some good morality though

imo if you want to read for the mystery, agatha christie is one of the very best writers, if for the air it's probably the sherlock holmes series

I've only read about five of them so far, managed to work out four. The one with the sun priest was nicely woven I think, well, I enjoyed it anyway.

I don't know, I don't read detective novels but my mom does and Christie is her favorite.
