Dammit Frank, I just noticed this:

Kwisatz Haderach / Kefitzat Haderech

Kefitzat Haderech... means, verbatim, "jumping of the path/road/way", a Hebrew equivalent of the English expression "short cut"....In Torah study and Jewish folklore, kefitzat haderech is the ability to jump instantaneously from one place to another or travel with unnatural speed. The term is originally found in Midrashim to explain anomalies of travel in the Hebrew Bible

what's this got to do with Dune

Yeah, Dune is all inspired by his middle east studies.

The Zen'sunni?
The Zen'shiism?

uhhh... the spice lets you fold space? "travelling without movement," remember? Please, think before you post in the future.

I found this post very informative. Thank you, OP

I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to take this as a terrible pun or not.

Agreed, though. Paul really irritated me as well for some reason, didn't end up finishing it.

it does not. Not in the books, anyway. it allows navigators to see into the future and pick the best course. It's the engines that fold space

And they live in the Dune universe the same way they do today, as parasites.
