anyone ever enjoy those choose your own adventure books?

>> No.547971

Were there any good ones? I liked the concept, but the ones I read always seemed really shitty and contrived.

Pic very, very related.

What is a choose your own adventure book?

>> No.547989

I liked the goosebumps ones. They always had awesome ways to die in them.

The Carmen Sandiego books were great. They weren't just choose-your-own-adventure; you had to go to different places to get clues and then there were pages in the back where you could record what you learned. The goal was to collect enough information to identify the villain in as few jumps as possible.

You could try out those text adventures (or, INTERACTIVE FICTION if you're feeling fancy).

I've never really gotten into them because my spatial reasoning is too weak for navigating with north/south/east/west. But, from my dabbling, I could recommend Photopia and Aisle since they have almost none of that.

Those are legit fun, though I suck at them too

My father was always buying me tons of those books.

Lone Wolf universe was fucking awesome.

You can get most of them online now: http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/Home

Choose Your Own Adventure was shit. There were a few other good ones, Grailquest I vaguely remember,
