Am I the alone in cringing when I hear people completely misuse the construction "there's"?

It seems like more and more people don't care that "there's" means "there is".

Just the other day I heard a college professor say "There's so many different on this campus."

I can't stand it how slowly "there's" is destroying common grammar.

When I pronounce There're, I just say "Thurrrrr". Makes me look stupid. So sometimes it might sound like I'm pronouncing "There's" when I have an "s" sound right after "Thurrr".

So it's like "Thurrrso many different (insert noun) on this campus".

So yeah, Thurrr so many complaints you can make about the butchery of grammar, but someone somewhere is, unbeknown to you, pronouncing it correctly.

I hope you feel bad.

Life isn't about intelligence, it's about convincing people that you do. Shoving people down the ladder will only make someone shake it while you climb. That is to say, condescending behavior leads to a descending social status. Or, to put it as simple as I can, "Don't be rude". Unless you are REALLY good with your people skills, in that case, don't abuse it.
