Does it bother you owning a ton of books? It's nice to have a collection, but they also just sit there, taking up space.

What if you have to move into a new place, perhaps a small apartment with less room?

How do you store and organize and transport all your books? Post photos if you'd like.

What is actually considered a lot of books? I also have around 200 (never mind the digital ones) and it doesn't feel like a serious collection.

Well it depend son which books you have. Of course you always can have more.

Example:
If you have a collection of 50 books from japanese 20century writers in german, you have a god colelction, in english it is great too, but there are more in english.

If you see a book from 2000, which is nearly sold out, I have to be fast.

i moved to a new apartment last year with a nice space in my hallway for a bookcase and made myself a perfectly sized bookcase for it with my dad out of my parent's old kitchen worktop
sh*t is perfect, but now i've spilled over and am piling books up on other surfaces
i like it anyway
books everywhere should be everyone's natural state here

How could owning lots of books possibly bother someone? I only wish I had more books. You have to transport all your possessions when you move house, heavy furniture included, so owning a smaller library isn't going to make moving house easier in a meaningful way.

I go there from time to time, since I work in the area (I'm an editor for an indie music magazine - but not Pitchfork, they're too commercial thesedays. I had always hoped to write for Downbeat, but oh well!). I dig the finger, tongue, and vagina - I think it's really subversive. Matter of fact, I wrote my grad thesis on sexuality in Kafka's works, and I'm confident he would grok the design! Maybe we'll run into each other around there. I'll be wearing a beret and directing a stressed face towards my iPhone - work is stressful, whattaya gonna do? Anyway, just say hello!

I was really more like acquaintances with them, although one of my close friends was really close to them. They're going to Paris so Tom can pursue an idea he has for a film. He said it'll be like Lost in Translation meets Blue is the Warmest Color - something less passionate than BitWC and focused more on a mature "second honeymoon" than "first infatuation." Still, he said the idea of a sort of Platonic Female Beauty is his Muse, and he wants to make it about aging and beauty, in one sense... But Jacquelyn had wanted to go for a while, since she has a cousin in Paris who's a well-known photographer.

They had a lot of parties, and the conversations were absolutely fascinating! I've never stayed up till dawn having such invigorating conversations - about politics, aesthetics, surrealism, female sexuality. Not even in college, and I went to Carleton! I met lots of really unique, quirky people at Tom & Jacquelyn's parties. I'll miss them a lot.

It wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be, I have about a thousand of them. Just a whole bunch of boxes.

It was honestly my favorite part of moving - getting to rearrange my books on the shelves again.

I doubt I'll ever move into an apartment smaller than the one I came from, so that's no worry. At my current place I have a dedicated hobby room, with two walls available to fill with books.
