Finally got around to read the book since I love the movie.

I thought it was great and wanted to know what /lit/ thinks about it.

I read that book back when the movie first came out. I also read Lost World. It began my love affair with Crichton. I think I liked The Sphere the best, but A Case of Need, one of his really old medical dramas was really good too. Got sick of him around the time Timeline came out. I enjoyed it, but never read another book by him. I think State of Fear is what ultimately turned me off. The premise seemed anti-intellectual. Strange considering the huge amount of research he supposedly does in preparation for writing these things.

The audiotape on this book on cassette was just to taste. Different actors, light music, ambiance, vivid, and well paced. I encourage you all to get your tape decks out and look for it.
