I'm not going to go full edgy and say that the r9k post is better, because it's not, obviously. But can we all man up and admit that literature's contribution to humour is completely negligible at best? Novels are shit for humour.

I read catch 22 and the last book I finished was something happened.

I mean, I don't laugh out loud at jokes in books the way I do when talking with friends or watching a movie, but I appreciate whenever an author makes a connection between two things that I wouldn't have thought of or when a silly situation is taken seriously by the characters. Humor is often there to remind the reader that he or she is a reader and not part of the story.
