Society check.

Publishers.

Publishers select. For a publisher to get an author all it takes is to select out the ones it does not desire and that is it. It has the ones it likes and then it just need to pick one. Even if it is a wrong one, it still will have a huge selection later one.

Writers.

Writers do not select. Writers have to constantly improve to be considerd as an option by the publishers. If you do not have cutting edge writing aesthetics, lots of connections, this and that, you simply will not come into contact with publishers. At least not in any desirable way.

Why is this like that? Where did all this go wrong? Is there nothing we, writers, can do to stop this brutality we experience?

This is simply an injustice. It is simply not fair by any standards, and I think any reasonal human being would agree with me.

So...where do we go from here?

Self publish and stop trying to be famous, or "recognized" as others put it.

That's why I'm self-publishing on Amazon for a 70/30 split. My sales will do the talking for me. If I do well, then I'm a "good writer." If I don't, then, I guess the publishers won.
