Tear it up and quit. Nine times out of ten, a studio wont even look at a screen play unless it's an adaptation of a book, television show, comic, movie, or toy line. Studios only pick up new scripts if they're already attached to a director with selling power.

Yeah. Fuck you.

OP, if you had the balls to finish writing the screenplay, then push forward. You may fail, but fuck it, cause you'll start afresh the next day despite the major hangover.

Oh. And the next step is post excerpts on 4chan, cause we are a curious lot.

Sit outside famous producers house, or possibly waitress at their favorite restaurant. Through antics and hijinks, manage to get him to read it. He loves it and carries you to fame and bitches.

If you're satisfied with it, find an agent and go for it.

how do you explain tarantino =|

he was first time director, with his first time script (reservoir dogs)

things seemed to go along pretty well, since the story and plot were solid

That was an independent film. Don't need to sell it to studios.

I'm not sure how Tarantino got the money to finance the film, or how he got those actors attached to it, though. He must've had some great connections in the film industry.

>> No.524353

OP here

how would somone go about finding an agent?

can't i just mail it to a production company. or keep hassling them to at least read the first scene?

i can handle rejection jussssssst fine.

Tarantino wrote and directed his first screenplay in 1987. It was not Reservoir Dogs. Also, he has been chummy with Lawrence Bender since the 80s.

Make friends in the business, OP, it's really your only chance to make it big. If you just want to see it acted out, get some friends and a decent camera.

>> No.524404

make 500 copies, drop them around all the Starbucks in LA, wait three years for someone to contact you, lose hope, buy a video camera and drag along some friends, post it on YouTube

Find someone to direct. Finding someone who watches a lot of foreign films, preferably, to impress pretentious film fags.
Find art college kids to act.
Mandatory shaky cam tracking shots.
Call it "your cinema"
Finish, send to festivals, make connections, and then have a legit copy produced later.
