Are there any good books with a lot of internal dialogue, or extended periods of time where a character is completely alone for a while?

It's sublime.

And no, it isn't all about Epicureanism. It only briefly and gently touches on this theme. It's what you think about afterwards.

Why not self publish anon? Surely it's better than nothing.

what do you need to self publish, anyway?

For an actual, physical book I have no idea.
I know you can publish on amazon though. I've heard that's pretty simple. I wouldn't expect to become a bestseller overnight using it though. Good way to get your name out there for subsequent books though I suppose.

I think you'd enjoy Thomas Bernhard a lot.
The Lime Works, Correction, The Loser, Extinction, Yes, Gargoyles, all of them are worth reading.
These novels are written as internal monologues by people who've completely shut themselves out from the world and are slowly becoming mad.

Madman's Tale by there's a lot of inner dialogue, what makes it more interesting is that the protagonist has schizophrenia.
