From what I read, and we're only talking the initial couple of pages, it was rather try-hardish. That being said, I've read most of his articles in the New Yorker and Harper's and enjoyed most of them.

I've heard some good stuff about it. I've never met anyone who has read it though.

From what I've gathered, it's a pretty ambitious novel, it's been compared a lot to Ulysses, but some people say it's too ambitious for such a young writer and therefore has its weaknesses.

I hope to read it one day OP. I like hearing about people on /lit/ branching out from the Russians and trying to read some newer stuff.
