I had a kickass weekend for book finding. Hit a thrift store in Arizona and then a Goodwill book store in California the day after and found all these:

From the Dust Returned - Ray Bradbury
Good Omens - Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Carrie, Firestarter, and The Eyes of the Dragon (Only 12 books away from owning every Stephen King, including Blockade Billy and Full Dark, No Stars which aren't available yet)
Mystic River - Dennis Lehane (I haven't seen the movie, but I did read Shutter Island earlier this year and enjoyed it (haven't seen that movie yet either))
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius - Dave Eggers
Everything is Illuminated - Jonathan Safran Foer
Blindness - Jose Saramago
Summerland - Michael Chabon
Snuff - Chuck Palahniuk (already read the library's copy of this and wasn't too impressed, but for a buck I figured I might as well add it to my collection)
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay - Michael Chabon
The Great and Secret Show - Clive Barker

in before comments on my unfinished drywall in the background (and yes that is a setlist from a Pixies concert hanging in the background)

tl;dr: I got some good books over the weekend, did you?

Haven't been to the thrift store for books in a long while :(

How'd you get that set list?

I do half-price books. I get lots of $0.50 - $2.00 older paperbacks. For stuff I can't find there or is too expensive I usually head to half.com.

Fuck off, that's some fun reading. OP bought it cheap, too.

I went to the Doolittle 25th anniversary tour in LA in November last year. Shit was beyond cash.

>>522603
Same. I use just about every method for finding used books as possible and rarely pay full price for anything.

Maybe in 1994. They're essentially classic rock at this point.

If liking the Pixies makes me a hipster then I'll be sure to grow a beard and buy my lumberjack shirt asap.

Never liked them. But I'm oldish. They were cool in the 90s. Listening to them now just has to be out of enjoying them. Even Fight Club is passe. You're 16, yes?

Nice OP, that's a pretty good haul, enjoy the Chabon and Barker!

Myself, I had a shitty weekend, I work on the weekend and my coworker fucked us over and bailed on the shift, meaning more work for everyone else. On the plus side at least he's likely to be fired. On the plus side, I got some overtime and finished a couple of pretty good books (Jon Armstrong's Grey and Richard Kadrey's Butcher Bird)
