How does the ubermensch define himself as ubermensch?
What are the characteristics that one should be aiming for when attempting to become the ubermensch?

Just read zarathustra.
I just started it and I'm only on part 1 but so far it's chuck out your superstitions and acknowledge your earthly body as your final boss form and don't listen to shit anybody tells you about the proper way of living.

He started doing incredible movies with no knowledge about cinematography, and he watched only two movies (which he hated) in his life before directing his owns.

He's a perfect example of an ubermensch in the movies industry.

>attempting to become the ubermensch

All you can do is reproduce with a superior mate and hope that the offspring grows in an environment that facilitates the furthering of humanity and repeats the process. I know eugenicists raped Nietzsche's corpse but seriously, dude was an idealist.

Or, you know, you can become a Kurzweil cultist like me.

When Nietzsche said God is dead, did he mean Pleroma or the Demiurge?

god's not dead; he's surely alive.

Wow. That was an excellent summary. Very unique way to describe it, good job anon

(I'm not OP but I've read Nietzsche)

Shit.
I'd say Plemora, which would include the Demiurge. Demiurge would be destroyed in the traditional sense -say as god or controller of creation- however, the Demiurge is immediately replaced by man. Not only man, as in the species, but man as the individual.
An additional specifier is that not all men but the men with the will to power.

Just the traditional God has died, correct?
That and God has died but he still haunts us from the grave.

Pippi is the übermensch

>What are the characteristics that one should be aiming for when attempting to become the übermensch?
To be free of spooks, not just personally but throughout all civilization. Like a child who learns there's no such thing as Santa grows up.

I should've probably mentioned about the fact that Lovecraft's writings do indeed reek of Nietzche.

The Ubermensche is the man with the metaphorical walking stick, carved out of his own values.

He uses it to get from place to place, forging new ones as they break.

Except that's a retarded way to live. It's basically #fuckdahaterz translated into normal prose.

The point of zarathustra isn't to become a solipsist. It's to develop your own moral principles which respect the nobility of others (i.e. not pitying them etc) and to strive to overcome anything preventing you of overcoming any life-negating aspects of your thought.

It's basically a book written to neurotic, beta guy who so often become guilt-ridden, shy, insecure etc because of their intellect, which tends to make them bitter and ahedonic. They repress their instincts in the name of civilization and order, and the realization that the masses do no such thing and act basically like animals as often as they can, donning the guise of the civilized only as a means to dominate others and make them as miserable as themselves. He is saying "do not allow the innocence and sensitivity you have held on to to be reduced to mawkishness, but also don't harden yourself and become a "last man", a hollow, satiated eunuch whose life is so orderly that his animal instincts have been extirpated. It promotes the anxiety and self-doubt that young intelligent males experience as a means towards an uncertain end, but an end which is life-affirming, which sees contradiction and inner struggle as a virtue not as a disease or something that should be atoned by asceticism and bitterness.

You goddamn idiots, every single last one of you. The Ubermensch was a warning by Nietzsche. He never wanted anyone to see that as a goal. Anyone who considers themselves above other humans should be tied down and raped back into reality.
