Could I be a bother and ask for some good books on substance abuse/addiction and depression? A book that addresses one or both of these things.

Junky by William S. Burroughs deals with addiction.
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath deals with depression.
Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace deals with both.

Yeah, I've read those and the latter is probably what motivated me to look more into the subject. I should have clarified that I'm looking for a non-fiction book.

I'm actually 20, but what you said besides the "weed clothes" part and the rabbi would be accurate when I was around 17. I read a lot of drug related literature that appears on that chart around that time but, once again I should clarify I'm looking for a factual book. Sorry, I should have made that clearer.

Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh, that's if you can get past the heavy Scottish dialect it's written in.
