I only know of Timothy Leary, Hunter Thompson and Huxley's Doors of Perception

Terence McKenna, my definite favorite, a friend of Leary. Leary once said he was "the real Leary". Start with True Hallucinations.
Sasha Shulgin was a chemist who recently passed away, he wrote PiHKAL and TiHKAL. It's more scientific.
Graham Hancock writes some fiction although I haven't had the chance to read it yet.
Albert's Hoffman "LSD: My Problem Child".
Tom Wolfe for more about the 60's.
Carlos Castaneda is another good one.
That Rick Strassman's DMT study book is an okay read.
Can't think of more right now but visit these websites: deoxy.org, erowid.org and matrixmasters.net/salon/ - you'll find much, the Psychedelic Salon is a great podcast.

Did you also read his follow-up essay Heaven and Hell? From what I've seen they tend be printed together as a single publication, so I would guess you have, but just asking since you didn't mention of specifically.
