I just watched The Great Beauty and then I opened this board...

and I realized everything in here is exactly the same

The /fa/ggot in me knows about this movie because Cesare Attolini, one of the world's greatest tailoring houses, supplied the wardrobe for it. Naturally the main character looks spectacular.

We're basically that one woman who wouldn't shut the fuck up about how she was superior to and more mature than everyone else (I think it was Stefania, but I didn't really pay attention to names in the movie, so that may have been a different woman).

This movie disappointed me. Well-made but undeveloped, nothing new in it. So much of it is Fellini taken and pasted onto a more conventional structure; the film should've been bolder, more willing to stand on its own very distinct strengths.

And yet, that seems to be the point. No?

It's garbage.

But we don't have any money, nor artsy parties.

That's a cop out and you know it.

If the point is trying to almost xerox the imitable and poetic pointlessness of another artist's work then there doesn't seem to be much of a point at all. Just a safeguard against a critical response.

This film was one big exercise in redundancy.

I agree with you that the movie kinda misses the mark and yet it's a pretty good message that we need more art like that of fellini.

Pessimism and decadence have a truth to them that has been willingfully forgotten in times of globalism and techno-optimism.
