So I know we're all elitist as fuck and that King "isn't literature" but I just finished IT and thought it was phenomenal. Anybody else like this book?

Yeah.
Pretty much everything with words on it is literature tho.

The ending was kind of absurd even for Steve, and I'm not even talking about the gang bang. It's pretty great for about 900 pages though

You could argue that IT was King's best or his worst. The length wasn't necessary, but it also never felt like I would purposefully omit any of it. Good read IMO

I finished his book last night. It's a better read if it's regarded as a psychedelic Bildungsroman, the "horror" is just too strange to be taken seriously. Easily one of Kings best works though.

Did anyone else think that calling the chapter where Beverly gets abused "Beverly Rogan Takes A Whuppin" was inappropriate?

well she'd probably consider it to be "taking a whooping" and I think her father calls it that at some point.

So where the resurrected people in Pet Semetary telling the truth when they acted like assholes, or where they not really the original people or what?

I want to know if that old guys wife was really fucking around on him

It was great. Ending was fucked and so was the kid gang bang scene. Came out of fucking nowhere.

By far King's strongest work.

>> No.5111492

I thought it was kinda shit.
The most interesting parts were the history of the town that broke up the main story, lumberjack one had me laughing out loud.
The real story was hit and miss, the most interesting part was when they went down in the sewers but that kept getting broken up in flashback.
The ending was pure what-the-fuckery, and not in a good way.

I was actually sort of curious about it too. Considering a lot of things the zombies said were a bit questionable I'll go with no?

I liked a lot of the details in IT and I think in that regard it was one of his better books, plus I actually found parts of it quite eerie.

However that ending was stupid and the bits with the turtle were just retarded.

I also wonder what the fuck he was thinking with the gang bang.
