ANOTHER SINGLE LONELY TEAR ROLLED DOWN MY CHEEK, SHY, AS IF IT WERE INSECURE.

So, how does brainstorming work?

for me it's a torrential jamming of connections down on paper or in my head. I just spew shit until something clicks and then I move on. I may go back and edit in a similar fashion.

That is the shittiest tumbler I have ever seen.

Also, whisky stones are bullshit.

brainstorming only works in group. so that other people can call you out on your crap and you call them out on theirs when the session is done. that's how you end up with a couple of legitimate ideas. brainstorming alone is useless because you won't get enough material and the material you will have will be overly biased

It's not about the appearance, it's how the shape directs the fluid to different taste buds. Look at the shape of a white wine glass vs a red wine glass.

If he wanted to enjoy his whisky, then he would be drinking out of a Glancairn glass or a Reidel Sommelier Cognac XO glass.

A tumbler has absolutely nothing in common with wine glasses, as they sole purpose of a tumble is to not get knocked over easily.

The thing is that water dilution is not always a bad thing with whisky. In fact, if you are drinking anything over 45% alcohol, adding a little bit of water will open up the flavors.

See, it's kinda stupid because cooling it down will do the opposite. Chilling whisky will make it harder to taste all the nuances, so adding a whisky stone is all forms of fucking stupid.

IF you want your whisky slightly chilled, then place the glass in the refrigerator or freezer a few minutes before pouring.

If whisky stones choke just one alcoholic then i'm all for them.

Replace shitposting with brainstorming

I thought the problem with ice was that your whiskey would be diluted to different levels over the course of drinking the glass.

I always get mine with ice anyway though. I just like chilled drinks, and I like it a little diluted too. I usually let it sit a bit so it's not overly cold though.

>> No.5106917

>>5106889
That is indeed one of the two problems that comes with using ice.

The other being that the cold masks the flavors.

It's better to chill the glass and add a little bit of ice cold water for dilution.

That seems to make sense. I don't drink whiskey enough to develop a well established ritual around it, but if I did, I'd probably get in the habit of doing it this way. As it is, I usually just have it when I visit my friends who live in Kentucky, and I just have it however they have it, or I just order a bourbon on the rocks at a bar, because I don't want to be too particular at a bar anyway.

>> No.5106961

Good whisky should be drunk neat with a little bit of water at most. But slobbering down glasses full of ice with blended whisky is a great thing too.
