Can having a lot of shitty early writing on the internet hurt a writer's career?

>> No.5051117

Of course not?

Who the fuck judges an author based on a single selection of works?

>> No.5051119

I BELIEVE SO BUT I DONT HAVE ANY SPECIFIC EXAMPLES. IF YOU ARE GOING TO POST ERALY WRITING ON THE INTERNET PLEASE USE A PSEUDONYM. THANK YOU

On second thought I bet the bastard who painted that sacrilegious portrait had a forked beard.

Yes.

Here's the deal. Publishers want to publish authors who make money. If you published your shit online and didn't make any money, you've proven to them that you're not worth publishing. Nobody will want to publish your stuff.

Why does he have long hair, he looks like a hippy or biker, my mom is disgusted when I grow my hair long, yet she is a catholic.

I've seen white jesus.

I've seen brown jesus.

I've seen black jesus.

I want to see yellow jesus.

>>5051110

The only way I could see that happening if your work appears to be written by someone else because you used to write terribly. Don't worry about that. A career as a writer has more problems than that. Worry about it when you are worth looking up online.

He was in a band then. Th "Radioactive Radish Kings" He's wearing their t-shirt in the pic, which is cropped so you can't see the Strat and two groupies kneeling at his feet with snakes wrapped around them. He worked weekends as a carpenter with his dad until he hit it big in Nazareth and went on tour, but it was cancelled in Jerusalem. Still a lot of tribute bands around though.

Meh, if you had an established fan base following your tumblr or twitter it is way more likely that they are going to publish you because you already have people who will hype your release.

This. You think people are going to want to publish an unknown person? If you don't have at least 1000 twitter followers you're a joke.
