People always refer to the Queen as the queen of england, and people always associate the might of the british empire with england. But we know that the scottish king inherited the english crown and united them, although the countries were ruled separately until the union.

Was scotland delegated to sit at the back while the english ran the empire? How much power and say did scotland and scottish lords have duringthe empire? I dont bring up wales since wales hasnt been a country since it was conquered and incorporated into england in the 1300s.
