Guy writing the 700 word essay here. You're so clever. Pay me a grand and I'll write your essay. I work at my school's writing center.

You can do it.

Just write it on something that you know closely, something that you can speak of with knowledge, authority, or even better... Something nobody can really claim as their own realm. Like...

"The Global Agora: Internet, Civil Society, and Digital Governance"

And yet another idea that flees me...

200,000 words in 3 months is actually do-able.

3*30 = 90 days, 200000/90 = 2222.2

2000 words per day, it's borderline, but you can do it. In Australia you can get a 6 months extension, too, not sure about US.

If you've done absolutely no original work then you're a hopeless case (your supervisor should have been bugging you for chapters for months now). If you're just summarizing previous works (like a literature review) 2000 words is absolutely do-able, and should take 9-11 hours of work per day.

>2000 quality words a day

ok if you want quality you need some ritalin or modafinil.

should be pretty straightforward if you know your subject well.

I'm not even paid to write my 200,000 words (actually 150,000 are enough), while many people in my college earn $2,500 per month for this. Disgusting.

>>5013278
I hope you realize my subject was chosen 5 years ago... I can't change it.
Still doable, but tougher and tougher since I visit 4chan instead of writing.

Of course not.

But it gets you some fancy treatment "Doctor", and people listen to you when you speak, with a certain degree of respect.

But also, maybe the people that gives respect if you have been brain smashed during years inside a Doctorate lab, are probably not the best people to get respect from; and the people you might want to get respect from, doesn't respect anything that comes from words.

So then again, life collapses in yet another unsolvable conundrum.

Man, when I'm actually writing, I churn out 9,000 to 10,000 quality words a day... The problem is that I'm extra lazy (writing 10,000 words in a row is tiresome, stressful and obsessive) and I'm consistently doing 0 words a day for 2014... I can do it, but it truly feels horrendous, unhealthy, sad now. Not the best mindset to say: "Let's stop procrastinating and write today!"

I have some originals ideas written down, my plan is complete, and I've read like 30 solid books (the essentials). I know exactly what to say, I just have 480 pages to write out of 500.
I'll probably work 14 hours per day.

it makes me kind of sad that this is all a liberal arts phd requires: read 30 books and write a 500 page book report. so if i read 30 books on a thing does that mean i know as much as a phd guy.

My father is very poor and so am I.
Education is cheap in my country, like $1,000 per year (I can afford those $1,000 because I'm a teacher in my college at the same time... I pay them with their own money.)

exactly the same situation i've been in with most of my undergrad essays, what you're looking at here is the ultimate all-nighter. but instead of a night it's a month. this is why i could never do a phd, id probably end up like you.

I'm not doing liberal arts.
Those 30 books are the obvious basics, nothing advanced. But I know them well. I actually have a lot of "lesser" or "filler" books and articles to read in the next three months; it will take 35 days out of 90.
