Would you guys recommend this book?

I'm thinking of whether or not I should read it.

its trash

>> No.5004935

Also, does it come in hardcover?

Why?

>> No.5005058

gimmicky garbage

>> No.5005274

Nothing good about it, at all?

>> No.5005638

I liked it, but it's a bit pretentious. Without all the crazy formatting, it'd be average at best, but there are a lot of parts where that lends to the pace of the story and adds tension, while others it just kind of does nothing but make it harder to read.

I say try to find a scanned version and see if you like the first few chapters, otherwise don't bother, the book itself is kind of pricey for a paperback you don't like.

It's basically two stories. One is pretty good the other one is mediocre. It's mostly the atmosphere of something completely alien and neutrally evil. It's not really horror, more like a very artsy paranormal story.

Pretty much this.

It's interesting. I'd certainly say to give it a go. It's not perfect but you'll have fun and be intrigued.

As other anons have said. It's interesting and entertaining. It's not top-tier literature but it's a lot better than most other shit out there at the moment.

I think it tries too hard to seem weird and just ends up kind of dull and, excuse the use of the word, pretentious

TFW the hardcover costs $50+

Don't. It's a try-hard attempt. Too bad because there are some excellent things in there but it gets lost in an attempt to do something original and edgy.

Is there a "normal" edition?

The plot is a few steps up from check-out-line-tier literature, but more effort seemed to have been put into it being "experimental", which just gets annoying. The plus side is that young college girls totally dig it, but I think reading a synopsis could just as soon help you get laid.

It's a trip. You will enjoy it.

This. It's fun. It takes itself way too seriously, but as long as you don't hold that against it and are just looking for some fun gimmicks, it's pretty good.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Like the rest of the people have said, the formatting gimmicks don't often add a lot to the story, but I still liked the parallel narratives along with just the tone of it all.
