ITT: Overrated books.

A Clockwork Orange: without having seen the movie, or read any of the book, I already knew what was going to happen. All I had heard of it before reading was praise and admiration. It had been made out to be some kind of life changing story that would make you question freewill and choice. Turned out to be an overly hyped parable.

Which version did you read? American version with cut chapter and altered ending or original version with additional chapter that makes a much better ending? If you read the version shown in the picture you read the original.

I actually agree, there really isn't all that much in this story to interest me past the fact that Alex has a really great musical taste (that goes much beyond the great ninth, mind you).

I own the version I posted. I think that it includes the 21st chapter.

Haven't had a dream in a long time. See, the life I've had, could make a good man turn bad.

The american version contains the last chapter as well.

They didn't up until recently. The version I bought is American and contains the chapter, but it's considered a revised version.
