I'm looking for literature that centers around rape. Specifically from the rapist's point of view.

Any suggestions?

A good question would also be, would a novel that centers on rape ever be published?

If i wrote a novel that depicts insane rape scenarios that i project through a fictional character, would anyone ever waste their time reading that depraved shit?

Rape seems a natural part of life to me. I really just don't understand how women who are raped claim that it ruins their lives.

It doesn't disfigure you or have any lasting consequences other than some emotional damage. If women controlled their feelings better than rape wouldn't be such a big deal.

>> No.4961129

Rape wasn´t that big of a deal in old times when it wasn´t considered a serious thing in general.

Nowadays its over sensationalized, so naturally, as woman are such emotional beings - immediately get it into their head that if they´re raped - their life is forever ruined.

anything by Peter Sotos, but good look finding them.

>> No.4961338

Rape is honestly not that bad. It's rarely fatal. Women have about a dozen mechanisms for accommodating it. It was a way of life until very recently, and it still is in many if not most places in the world.

It's like when cats fuck. The male deliberately rakes the female's pussy painfully and she flips her shit. If they developed super high culture they might stop doing that or something, but it's still normal. Not fatal, not generally harmful, normative. Rape is a cat penis.

The ironic thing is that everyone's rush to accommodate rape victims' victim complexes is what turns it into a thing in the first place. It just worsens with every generation.

If it wasn't a big deal why were rapists given the most horrifying punishments in myth? Eg. Ajax the Lesser

>> No.4962992

Because property damage.

>> No.4963034

>>4962989

Ajax son of Oileus' punishment isn't for rape. The ancient Greeks didn't have a problem with rape. The Iliad kicks off with a violent dispute of who gets to keep the rape slave they took in the last raid. Ajax's crime is that he scorned Athena by raping Cassandra inside her temple, so she sunk his boat (but did not do shit to help Cassandra or punish Agamemnon, who wound up taking her home - though we see how well that worked out). He survived and then doubled down by claiming that not even the gods could kill him, so they killed the fuck out of him. Women were very much third-class individuals in ancient Greece and there are a LOT of Greek writers who clearly essentially regarded them as mostly worthless assholes who were worth fucking but not liking. It's not surprising that rape was less of a big deal to them.

>> No.4963090

>>4963034

Weren't those kinds of things strongly grounded in a tribal mentality, though? As in, there would be a very sharp difference in a Greek's attitude to a Greek soldier raping a foreign woman and his attitude to a slave raping the wife of a citizen, for example. Not much concept of a unified 'femininity' and 'masculinity', or at any rate very much subservient to 'Greek' and 'non-Greek'.

It's because of social constructs and taboo.

We teach women that they should have complete control of their own body and so when it's forcefully taken from them they see it as degrading and humiliating because they're raised to believe that. It's kind of like how everyone here is grossed out at the thought of eating bugs but everyone in Asia is totally cool with it.

How stupid right?
