Gay ass "feeling" thread.

What author have you felt most connected to while reading? Or which felt the most "present" as you read him/her?

>> No.4957626

Ondaatje.
In the Skin of a Lion, especially.

I don't like Vonnegut as a person. I am repulsed by some of his radical/retarded views and he comes off as pretty arrogant.

However, when reading his novels, I can't help but feel like we share common desires or mindsets. I love his sense of humor and, once I forget about his interviews and such, I trick myself into thinking we would get Along very well in a private setting and develop into friends.

for me, it would be my least favorite author i've read; Bret Easton Ellis.

i grew up in a similar environment as he and can relate quite well to his characters. but, his stories are shit-tier.

Knausgaard is probably one of the most attractive writers to have ever lived, although maybe that's not saying much because a lot of writers have written in part to make up for their ugliness.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Wallace yet. He's my answer anyway, because his sensitivities and concerns are very similar to mine. (I'm talking specifically about his later work, when he cared more about his readers than he did earlier on.)
