My son recently killed himself. His note is a print-out of the following lines in a document that his mother and I found on his laptop. This site was in his search history. Can someone help me understand his mind better?

All manner of misfits call this site home. I think it's safe to assume that a higher proportion of users of 4chan are mentally ill, troubled, etc. than the rest of the population. This isn't some kind of suicide club though.

People here often discuss philosophy, it looks like your son (if this is real) was interested in philosophy. Maybe he was trying to work out life and it's meaning.

sorry for your loss. I don't think reading these would actually help you, depression is a medical condition, not an intellectual endeavor. Even if he thought that these theories are central to why he killed himself, that's not necessarily 'true'. Try to remember the happy moments. Don't interpret his choice as a judgement of you or your wife. He never asked to be born, and he made a choice as a human being that you should respect.

I'm just trying to help but I'm also trying not to get harsh rused. tbh I'm not even clear about what you're trying to say, my use of the word it's is correct, so why are you quoting it? So maybe I am insensitive, it's the internet. I'm pretty sure that the sentiments of a fat guy who argues about books he hasn't read on the internet all day aren't going to be appreciated by a grieving father anyway. like I said, just trying to be helpful, but I don't fully buy OP's story, so I'm not going to get mad rused like what happened with that fag rapture.

er... no. You wrote 'life and it's meaning', which is wrong. The angular parantheses do not describe what I cited, but are a stand-in for what I would have written otherwise.
