find ender's game, read that. then follow it up with speaker for the dead and so on. avoid the shadow series

I read enders game, followed by speaker for the dead. I felt like I missed something in the middle. What is "and so on" I can't really figure it out. Is Xenocide next? Then what?

also, when does this become enjoyable to read? I got through the first couple chapters and was like "blegh". Does it change it's pace? Get better? I understand it's supposed to be some amazing book, but it's sure got a slow start.

It gets better. Just fucking power through that shit. Come on now. You know it's a sci fi classic. It'll be worth your while.

Ender's Shadow is pretty alright.
It goes progressively downhill after its sequel, though. I wouldn't read more than the third book in the Bean arc.

It's the same for me with Dostoevsky - once I get used to the names for people and places, the shit starts to rock my world.

You'll get over it after a couple o' pages.
