Nothing.

New Sincerity can't stand on its own two feet since it's contingent on the irony it strives to overcome. Postmodernism at least could stand alone from modernism, but this whole Sincerity thing is nothing without the "struggle".

And metamodernism is Spongebob-tier logic.

Nothing, really. If you ever see the term "New Sincerity", that is referring to the successor to pomo, but in reality its just a term made up by David Foster Wallace.

Don't get me wrong, there are good short stories being churned out these days, its just that they don't really belong to any movement. But yeah post-modernism has about run its course. It's dying because everybody is finally realizing that what a ludicrous idea it all was from the beginning. People don't want to read labyrinthine intellectual treatises cloaked in 5 layers of irony and 3 layers of intentional deception. They just want to read good stories

What? What exactly do you want? You want some new literary movement to be a part of? go ahead, take one; there's a whole smorgasbord of "movements" out there.

There's a movement going on in my bowels right now, and your posts are certainly consistent with the criteria.
