How do I write female first-person narrators?

Last time I tried at a workshop, one lady said she was surprised when she found out the narrator was a girl, apparently the voice was too masculine.

What does that mean? How do women think compared to a man?

they actually have thoughts.

What makes a narration 'feminine'?

I'm not sure what to say. (What else is new?)
Try reading some women authors.

What does this mean though? My male narrators have stream of consciousness. Besides, each person is different so it's not like EVERY SINGLE woman would be analytical or something.

I don't know. That's what I want to find out.
