Why do some fringe groups claim that Walt Whitman was gay?

Is it because they don't know how to interpret his work or because they have liberal agendas?

Bisexuals don't fit into the discrimination olympics (checking games) and are almost rejected from them, because we're hella privileged (it's obvious that being able to enjoy the best of both worlds is a privilege, a freedom not shared by all) and break hearts left and right by experimenting with our sexuality only to leave everything to marry our 10/10 partners 99% of the cases.

That's as gay as it gets. There are pride parades in San Francisco that are less gay than Evangaline. Right now there is a Thai ladyboy somewhere douching cum out of its asshole while reading Evangaline and thinking to itself, "wow, this a seriuosly gay ass poem."
