Kingsley Amis - Take a Girl Like You

really, really good. Still has the Kingsley Amis Protagonist who congenitally drinks too much and cheats on everything that moves. But it's a lot more charming as a book, and a lot less loathable.

It's also a really good analysis of relationships in general. I feel like everyone on /r9k/ should read it. Especially this one speech.

Nothing consistently, due to classes. Last thing I read was some sections in The Ancient Economy by Finley to try to determine what status of people would be craftsmen. My gut was right when I figured it was low status stuff, in retrospect I didn't need to look it up as it involves working with your hands and, thus, is low class shit in Roman society.

Third volume of Min Kamp. No, no one went and made sequels to Mein Kampf in Norway, but this writer guy, who is really good, one day decided to write his entire life down into six volumes. So far four are out and the critics are already comparing him to Hamsun and Ibsen in terms of importance. I don't know about that but I'm fucking loving it. I can relate to the main character in every way so in that fashion it work well, and how he manages to make beautiful dramaturgy out of his life is just awesome. For example with the second book he juggled all these themes about before he brought them all together by telling a simple everyday story and I just sat there with tears in my eyes. I'm not sure if it'll work this well cross-culture, but I recommend you anons check it out when first volume of "My Struggle" is released somewhere near you. Yupyup.
