I read Dune, Dune Messiah, and about 1/2 of Children of Dune back when I was about 13. I decided to re-read them and finish off the series. I'm about 1/2 way through Heretics and will be starting Chapterhouse soon. I was wondering what /lit/ thinks of the "final" two books that Frank's son decided to write.

Should I read them for closure, or are they really as bad as some people lead me to believe?

Don't read them. I read them when I was younger, and even then I hated them.

They destroy all the mystery and wonder and ambiguity of the old books.

Dune, imo, is the only one worth reading.
And barely at that.
