I know very little of it, except that it has the devil in it. What should I expect? Is it good, or just one of those fairly old "important" books?

it's very funny

It's quite brilliant. Characters other than Woland, Azazello and the cat are a bit weak though.

>> No.4668470

Is it easy or hard to read? I would guess medium or hard, but I don't know.

I didn't get it. I thought it started brilliant but went down hill fast

Really easy. It's pleb-tier lit but I love it.

This place gets more and more hilarious by the day, I swear.

Seriously? I was hoping it would be fairly hard, and (slightly) intellectual. Is this not the case?

Maybe I should get something else tomorrow. I don't know now.

I meant that's it's not exactly a masterwork of the Western Canon. It's not particularly deep nor is it full of allegory but it's aimed at the people that read that sort of thing. It's one of my favourite books to read when I need to let off a bit of steam and not think too hard.

Not reading a book because /lit/ called it pleb is the most plebeian thing of all.

>> No.4668524

I love that book, it fills your head with images of Jesus which is something I thought I'd never experience. But, yeah, it's not difficult or challenging.

The first time through I was compelled to skip forward to all the Judea chapters by themselves. Then I went back and read the whole thing. It is "one of those old important books." But it is no Finnegan's, no Gravity;'s Rainbow, and for that I was grateful.
