Is life futile?

All of these things are simple to understand and clearly necessary:

-sex
-food
-health
-education
-transport
-security
-freedom
-privacy
-friends
-entertainment
-leisure

Most people don't have all these items in a satisfactory level but fail to realize that this is what is making them unhappy. They underestimate the role of these things in someone's happiness.

I say that life is futile because things that make life as good as it gets are all obvious and simple.

I've put sex in first because people tend to state that love has profound aspects. But they say that to anything they don't understand. Once you understand they become as trivial as everything else. Evolutionary biology and psychiatry have the answers for that.

Plus, money gives you most of them to some extent and makes the rest easier to get.

Some people read fiction in order to explore the question of whether life is futile.

Life is a challenge. Gauntlet thrown down, what're you gonna do?

>I've put sex in first because people tend to state that love has profound aspects
Sex and love are separable. I'm not getting any sex (beyond masturbation) but I'm full of love anyway. It's a big part of what contents me. It will never be trivial. I get poetic with myself and say love and other ephemerals will go on after we're all gone. Man's favourite child, to fill the dark void once we've perished

it's not futile because they are obvious and simple, it is not futile at all. These things are possible for most anyone to gain access to, some have problems permanent or able to be fixed that prevent it currently but are overwhelmed by the want of them and have trouble finding a way; others are born unable, which is tragic. The solution to happiness is equity. While it may not be the extravagant, indulgent, rich-man fantasy some dream of, it is the ethical option.

the problem is that most people get unhappy over the fact that theyre unhappy, such is the wages of hedonism as modern social tradition.

The word "love" is used to describe either the action of placing the needs of another at or above the level of one's own needs, or to refer to an emotional feeling of affection.

In what way does guano do either?

Say that love is sex+friendship? They're math is off. Love+sex+friendship=working relationship.
Three does not equal eight.

>>4626966
Love is a natural emotion, sex a natural physical feeling. When having sex, you're pretty much masturbating up against each other. Same kind of thing with love. Love for each other never actually connects/commingles, like the ingredients of food
