My brothers, girlfriend, and I have a little book club. We read something, chat about it, and then move to something new.
Looked through the wiki and it's sad there's not more sci-fi on the list.
Looking for some sci-fi or fantasy stuff you folks would recommend.
Authors we like: Tolkien, Rothfuss, Martin, Heinlein, Gaiman, King.
Read Roadside Picnic due to /lit/, mixed feelings on that one.

P.S. The Black Company sounds pretty bad ass, is it?

I'd recommend:
For Tolkien, try Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake

Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse Five
Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles
Terry Pratchett's Nation

I don't read too much sci-fi or fantasy but there are novels I'd recommend that have elements of it. Like you guys could try Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow. It's not a good start for Pynchon but it has some fantasy.

You guys could read some comics too like V for Vendetta

Try The Stars my Destination by Alfred Bester, The End of Eternity or The Complete Robot by Isaac Asimov or Starship Troopers by Heinlein (if you haven't read it yet).

the recommendations on the wiki are pretty good though

It's not really "bad ass," no. It deals with grunts being grunts in a world dominated by demi-god wizards. It's well written, but the style is very atypical of fantasy. Many people find it off-putting.

Just make your group read Ender's Game or something. Light and fast-paced sci-fi. Or check out Abercrombie, he's similarly very light and easy to get through.

>The End of Eternity
Are there any sci-fi books on this list that have elements of fantasy? As in light magic.
