So /lit/ I'm thinking about entering a young writers competition, but the due date for the story is in 13 days. Is that too soon to write a full short (2500- 3500 words)? I think not. But anyway,

What do you think the judges would be looking out for in a short story coming from a 15 yearold.
i know nothing generic, but what could make my story really shine?

Well, you can do it, but remember that you're going to have to spend a lot of time editing, revising, so the best thing you can do is start right now and work on it every chance you get. also, try to read as much recently published lit as you can in this time ....idk about the current scifi market. um, guess it's time to get offline and get to work, try disconnecting the internet when you're working.
