How is "the beat generation" a literary period?

It was just a group of realist writers. Kerouac owes his writing style to Thomas Wolfe.

I would like to apologize for the crappy graph in this last one. Who the fuck puts Heidegger and Kierkegaard on equal footing, where the former is not influenced by the latter? Also where the fuck are people like Husserl and Dilthey?

God damn how lucky i am to have a natural feel for the proper use of punctuation. I never payed attention in school but i still rarely make grammatical errors. Do you happen to be scouring this text now searching for grammatical errors? Tough luck faggot; you won´t find any.

It cannot be assessed whether or not commas were to be placed where you insist they were to be placed. Give me a break, i deserve at least B+, it all depends on how you want it to be read. No sane person would write all those commas on an online message board for others to read. It would perhaps be more appropriate if you were writing a dialogue.

this used to be fun when it was about trivial shit like twelve weird old tips to remembering where you left your car keys or how to go longer without taking a piss. now it is basically anything you would normally have to read about in a book cheaply summarised and displayed alongside charts, cartoons and attention-holding images. probably in thirty years people will stop reading books to learn things and simply pull out an infographic on their android phone when they need it.

I don't know grammar jargon myself, but there's a pretty obvious pause between 'scouring this text now' and 'searching for grammatical errors,' they're two separate actions. 'Do you happen to be scouring this text now?" could easily be a complete sentence on it's own.

One is searching for grammatical errors BY scouring the text.
One is scouring the text IN ORDER TO search for grammatical errors.
