Has anyone else on here read Son? (the fourth and final book in the Giver series, released in 2008) I just heard about the last book a few weeks ago and just finished reading it. What did everyone think of the ending/the book in general?

Also Giver general, I guess.

Every single fucking time I see the cover I think of anal sex

I wish it would stop

whoa there was more than 1 of these?

what was it about after the 1st one?

and if I remember from what I read in school, wasn't it some shitty metaphor for communism? I remember enjoying it at the time but I enjoyed some stupid things

It was good for 5th grade fiction
I can't imagine reading it after you were 11 though. There's just...nothing more for you to get from it.

>> No.4389225

Wait, there was an entire series?

That's strange because all I know about The Giver is that schools banned it because of sex. Where did you go to elementary school?

>not reading it after 11 y.o. to see how shitty and glorious some parts were

I read The Giver, wasn't aware there was more
The Giver is just so... disappointing. There's a wonderful universe, generally likable characters, good questions aroused...

and then they go sledding down a hill into a house on christmas
what a shitty ending
