>You're at home
>Reading a book
>You come across a sentence so deep and clever and well-written it makes you feel a thousand feels
>In this moment you are unlightened by both the authors and your own intelligences
>You're then too euphoric to keep reading and actually have to stop for a while

Has this kind of thing ever happened to you, /lit/ ? It happens to me a lot and it's so overwhelming that it's almost annoying.

I meant enlightened. Apology for poor english.

Isn't it obvious that english isn't my mother language, though ?

It was a truly beautiful play on words, I'm sorry you were too dense to appreciate it.

Well then, what is the point in pointing out my mistakes ? You'd rather focus on the subject of my thread or leave.

Yes this happens to me sometimes, it's the more enjoyable part of reading for me but I see it as a journey not a destination.

Are we still talking about reading so hard we have to stop for a while? That happened to me in my early 30s when I read the Rum Diary, that section about holding no cards.

I make about 2x what I need (meaning I save 50% of my paychecks), I'm not sure if that's "rich" but I'm certainly saving a lot of money.

Happens to me whenver I read Nabokov and Proust. Pretty much the masters of aesthetics.

Anyone else comes close?

LOL OP'S A FAG.

It's happened to me a few times, though. If I remember right it was Melville, Proust, Dostoevsky and Poe. Poe especially. I can't even remember which line it was, or where it came from, but he said something that was written so damn well, combined with it connecting to me on a personal level, that I drowned in feels.

>> No.4389382

Okay yeah. I was underground waiting on the trolley to take me home from work when I hit upon a line in "The Magus" that was so incisive that I instantly became dazed and euphoric. So much so that I rode the whole way home lost in thought. I almost missed my stop.
