I just read through Jack Vance's The Overworld and Cugel's Saga. And now I'm reading through the tribute anthology if the setting.

I really really liked it, New Wave Fantasy Authors where great.

You guys have any other authors to recommend based on this?

Just Howard's Conan. I'm sure there's plenty of imitators but no one here (that I've noticed) goes for that stuff. (Aside from that guy selling Flashman)
I've been meaning to give Vance a try someday, but I'm still so done with that kind of thing. I read most of the Stainless Steel Rat books. You might like those.
