I made my own Necronomicon from scratch for a costume but I don't know how to fill it. I have good handwriting and sketching skills, but I'm no writer. I don't English gud.

Suggestions? The Necronomicon traditionally contains the history of the Elder Gods and ways of summoning them.

Don't even MENTION Cthulhu or one of the lesser entities. He was just a priest.

if it's not meant to be read than just write with a substituted alphabet and fill it with illustrations. Google Necronomicon and the Voynich manuscript for inspiration

Wow, that's really cool.

How did you make that from scratch? Are you a leather crafter? What is the rest of your costume going to be?

I must for his celebrity status. If I hand the book over to someone or pose for a photo, I'd want at least one page to be recognizable to the average person.

Though I'm most looking forward to drawing and writing about Yog-Sothoth.

I plan on writing in non-English for a good portion of it, but I wanted several noteworthy pieces to be in legible English.

Thanks, Anon.

This was my first bookbinding and I primarily followed this guide as well as the reference they used from youtube: http://joshhagen.com/2013/03/28/bookbinding-the-necronomicon-part-6/

The black leather is actual leather, the other parts are spray painted pleather. Before this project, I had never worked with leather or bookbinding.

No no no no. That's a modern exercise in surreal comic strips. Something codex or whatever. No doubt inspired by the Voynich Manuscript

codex seraphinianus, and the author set out to create a modern day uninterpretable text like voynich

OP it's really good but I suggest giving it a 'worn' effect somehow. like, use sandpaper.

Donald Tyson wrote a passable, if disappointing Necronomicon. You could copy the text from it, if you want reading it to actually match the stories.

Chaosium published a book called Necronomicon. It contains two versions of the book, by Lin Carter and by Pelton. At a glance, these look a lot more necronomicon-y, but are terrible on the whole.

Also, Alhazred worshipped Cthulhu (along with Yog-Sothoth), pretty sure he'd talk about him in Al-Azif.
