Do you read more ebooks, or more paper books?

paper

>> No.4205104

Solely ebooks. I can't read paper books, they feel to primitive. The only reason I started reading was because I got a kindle for christmas.

>> No.4205131

I read longer books on kindle (b/c a ton of pages in front of my face is daunting) and shorter books (-500pg) in paper

>They feel primitive
I bet you feel euphoric when reading.

I myself like paper better, it feels more "real"

>I bet you feel euphoric when reading.
idk why but I laughed so hard at this.

>> No.4205230

Ebooks, on account of the fact that they don't cost money. I've read 118 books this year, I can't afford to buy 118 books.

that's because you have shit taste in humor

Ebooks Can't read paper anymore, unless it's very engaging or a textbook.

>> No.4205247

paper, real books can't die on you. also i suppose buying ebooks is cheaper, but buying from a goodwill bookstore isn't too pricey. i just prefer the feeling of a real book in my hand.

Maybe.

Or maybe it resonated with some of my thoughts.

>> No.4205257

Real books are a lot more awkward for relaxed reading. Like if you're in bed, you either have to have it straight above you to comfortably use two hands, or you have to hold it in that awkward grip that looks like a pretend hand-phone, and that strains your wrist, and it's hard to turn pages, so you have to dig out your other arm....

>> No.4205259

I find it's easier to read actual physical copies than e-books.

>going on a 40 minute journey every time I want another book for the privilege of borrowing that book for a short time with the caveat that if I don't return that book on time I will face financial repercussions

Oh yeah, that sounds much more convenient than spending 30 seconds downloading a .mobi and loading it onto my ereader.

He meant that the other option you should have been smart enough to mention should have been the library, not buying.

>> No.4205352

Ebooks are a lot more comfortable to read while in bed. When I'm on my side with a real book when I get to the page on the bed I have to lift of the book or roll over to my other side. With an e reader I don't have to do this.

I did pick up on that, since that is exactly what he said. But fuck that noise m8, convenience is a huge factor. When I gave up on Timescape for being a soap opera in disguise as a scifi masterwork I had free reign to browse around for the next thing I wanted to read and get it almost instantly. I don't want to have to plan my reading list for the next few weeks.

I never subscribed to a library because I just can't stand the time limit.
I'm a slow reader and am also kind of moody in what I want to read and when. I honestly don't need that shit.
Also I prefer to share books with people I know, rather than strangers. I can actually discuss the thing with them, and they don't return the book with destroyed parts or whatever.

>> No.4206421

paper books. It's easier to skim and faster to read. plus the library due dates act as a handy deadline to finish a book quick whereas I linger way too long on ebooks, though I tend to use them on larger works

Paper books. Easier to write notes in if I want to, and going to a library is free (especially convenient since I live down the road from one) and I can just renew most books as many times as I need too, and I believe most libraries now let you do that online. They're also easier for me to keep track of on my shelf, which I guess is really just a personal thing.

>>4205259
This, especially for older books. It's a major pain in the ass for me.

for clearification: I can't stand to read them on my pc, but if I use an ereader, it's much more comfortable than reading a physical copy.
